Down by the Nile

Being such a dull overcast day the picture above makes the Nile look just like an English backwater. Mud and all. Here we look south in the direction of Aswan. All the grass on the left will be well under water soon and by the summer only the trees will be above the water line.

Here we look north to the Theban hills and it is so overcast that you cannot even see them.

It is now much later in the day, the sun has started to break through the clouds and the fire is nearly out. Pauline collects the last of the gardening rubbish.
