AWOL does so much good every day, but sometimes we are just so pleased to be in the right place at the right time.
The owner knew exactly where we would be, so we saw the donkey very soon after the accident.
This donkey stumbled and fell, which caused this nasty injury.
We immediately sedated the donkey, and Dr Mohammed started to operate.
Just about an hour later, with the operation completed, we brought the donkey around and he stood, as you can see here.
The stitches will need to come out in ten days.
We wrapped the eye because with all the dust and dirt around, infection is something that we really worry about. Being February we also experience some very windy days.
