Another day and we see old faces and new, as the children wait with their puppies and dogs for AWOL to arrive, on the main bridge across the Nile.

This dog has come off much worse than the vehicle, in a road traffic accident. The owner came to us with his injured dog which we are seeing more often and proves that AWOL is changing how the local people view their animals.

The dog suffered a fractured back leg and a deep gash on the front leg.

We do not really understand why they do it, but for some reason they immediately put what can only be described as a mud pack, on the injured area.

Looks like a different dog doesn't he. He no longer needs any bandages and is moving well. The owner now brushes him, though without cutting his coat, the mud stubbornly refuses to come off, though there is less there every time we see him.
