ASWAN ~ Egypt

What is it like in Aswan today?

Aswan is much warmer than Cairo and even though it is less than four hours south of Luxor, by train or road, it also feels much warmer than Luxor, especially in the summer, so it is really refreshing to be able to take a felucca - the local type of sail boat - around the islands in the Nile. These islands and rocks are known collectively as "The first Cataract".
