Looking back at November 2011

Another wonderful month in Luxor even if the nights are becoming so much colder. Graham is enjoying the three wheel motorcycle, but has already bought a pair of motorcycle gloves, as now when he comes home after dark, it is extremely cold on the hands.

Kathryn Black and the Theban Curse

Yes it has been a long time coming, but at a shade under one hundred and ten thousand words it took rather a long time to write, especially with everything else that is going on in our lives. The final push came when we decided to use it as a fundraising vehicle for AWOL.

Enjoy an Egyptian adventure set in Luxor, in electronic book format, on your Kindle, PC, Mac, Blackberry, iPhone, iPod touch, Android or Windows 7 phone, and help AWOL at the same time. It is a great buy and hopefully a good read. All the profits from the sale of this book, will go directly to Animal Welfare Of Luxor - AWOL. Buy it as a present or enjoy it yourself, and you will be helping AWOL to help even more animals.

It is an Egyptian fantasy and adventure book for young adults that is set in Luxor, but is a book that can be equally enjoyed by all age groups. CLICK HERE for more details.

Available for purchase from Amazon in the UK, USA, France and Germany. CLICK HERE for a direct link to Kathryn Black and the Theban Curse on the Amazon UK web site, that will open in either a new tab, or a new page, depending on your browser. Please note that this is currently only available as a digital book. It will however be available as a 316 page paperback early in 2012, but this will only be on sale in the USA.

We had two days off from our AWOL duties due to the Eid feast, which both Muslims and Christians celebrate, so it is a very special time here in Luxor. Jan, who had been staying with us, left on the first day of the feast, but will be back in six weeks, which we are all looking forward to, as it is so nice having her here with us. Graham and Jan went off to Abydos and visited the Seti I temple as well as the Ramses II temple, that is just a short distance out into the desert. Seeing them both made the journey worthwhile, because by taking the car they didn't have to worry about time, only the energy required to do them justice.

It has been lovely to have our friend, Sue, staying with us, but alas she flies home tomorrow. We cannot believe just how quick the time goes. We met up with Kate only once, and then she also was gone. Two weeks is absolutely no time at all. It comes and goes in the blink of an eye.

The last couple of weeks have turned unseasonably cold here, especially once the sun sets. It is more like late December weather, so we are both creaking at the moment. We really do not know how we would survive if we had to cope with the cold of the UK climate.

We wish you all
A VERY HAPPY CHRISTMAS

If you are coming to Luxor and plan to meet up with us then do drop us an e-mail from the link below.
