TT.52 - The tomb of Nakht is about half way up this section of the Theban hills but it is not a hard walk from the official car and bus park. Your entrance ticket includes the tomb of Menna which is a short distance further up the hill.
Once at the tomb of Nakht there are only a handful of steps down before you are in a room that leads directly to the very small area of painted walls and serves as a cool waiting area.
In Nakht's tomb there is a very short corridor to the left and the right, just a few paces in either direction and this is the only area that is decorated. An area that is suitable for only a couple of visitors at a time but the lighting is awful so it does take a while for one's eyes to adjust enough to see the detail, so don't be rushed, or you will miss the beauty of this tomb. The burial chamber is straight ahead as you enter this section but is undecorated and there is no access to visitors. |
